XBT (Bitcoin BLAKE2b) Mining Tutorial

What is XBT?​

In this guide, XBT refers to the DxPool pool for Bitcoin using the BLAKE2b proof-of-work algorithm. Bitcoin is a peer-to-peer electronic cash system that operates without a central authority. This BLAKE2b network keeps Bitcoin's monetary rules while using BLAKE2b instead of SHA256d for mining.

Mining Device​

XBT requires a BLAKE2b or BLAKE2b-Sia ASIC miner. Supported examples include Antminer A3, Goldshell SC5 Pro, and Goldshell SC Lite. SHA256d Bitcoin miners cannot mine this network. See the official Miners and DATUM guide for compatibility details.

Preparation Before Mining​

XBT supports both sub-account mining and wallet-address mining:

  • For sub-account mining, register a DxPool account and create a sub-account.
  • For wallet-address mining, prepare a valid XBT wallet address. A DxPool account is not required for this mode.

Check that the miner, network connection, and power supply are operating normally.

Configure Your Mining Device​

Open the miner's management page by entering its IP address in a browser, or use the manufacturer's batch management tool. Enter the following settings:

Pool/URL: xbt.ss.dxpool.com:3388
User/Worker (sub-account): DxPool sub-account name.workername
User/Worker (wallet address): XBT wallet address.workername
Password: Your choice, for example 123

Important: XBT uses BLAKE2b. Do not connect a SHA256d Bitcoin miner to this pool. Confirm that the device supports BLAKE2b or BLAKE2b-Sia before saving the configuration.

Choose one User/Worker format. The worker name is optional, but assigning a separate worker name to each device makes monitoring easier. Separate the DxPool sub-account name or XBT wallet address and worker name with a period, for example test.001 or XBT-wallet-address.001.

For sub-account mining, enter the DxPool sub-account name rather than a wallet address or phone number. For wallet-address mining, enter a valid XBT wallet address.

Save the settings after checking the pool address, sub-account name or wallet address, and worker name. The miner should begin submitting shares after it connects to the pool.

Mining Monitoring and Earnings​

After the miner connects and submits shares, open the XBT pool on the DxPool website. Sign in to check sub-account mining, or use the XBT wallet address to check address mining. Confirm that the worker status, hashrate, and earnings are displayed.
